WHO IS UNCLE CATFISH?

Uncle Catfish is an audio-visual project from a Texas-born producer living in Spain. The sound combines lo-fi hip-hop, vaporwave, glitch-hop, and psychedelic bass into nostalgic yet futuristic music. Mixing real instruments with modern electronic production gives the project its own distinct voice.

Musical Style & Sound

The sound moves between bass-heavy lo-fi hip-hop, vaporwave textures, and glitchy psychedelic bass. With influences from Jamaican dub, chopped & screwed hip-hop, classic video game soundtracks, and UK dubstep, the music blends digital and organic elements into a warm, immersive style.

  • ✦ Regular performances at local and regional clubs and festivals in Spain, Costa Rica, and Brazil.
  • ✦ Former resident DJ for a popular reggae night in Granada, Spain, spotlighting underground psydub and bass music.
  • ✦ Releases on Bandcamp, Spotify, and SoundCloud with growing international listenership.
  • ✦ Collaborations and production mentorship with respected producers in the bass music scene.
  • ✦ Featured in niche electronic music blogs and underground music podcasts.

Live shows combine DJ sets with live instrumentation and custom visual projections, creating an immersive, multi-sensory experience. Setup includes synthesizers, drum machines, live guitar, and glitch visuals synchronized with the music’s rhythms and textures. Performances emphasize hypnotic beats and psychedelic atmospheres, making each show a unique journey.

Uncle Catfish’s visual world is fully DIY. All artwork, cover designs, cassettes, and merch are created in-house, often hand-painted or individually crafted. Each release has its own visual language, blending digital experimentation with personal, handmade elements. The result is an evolving aesthetic that reflects the music’s mix of organic texture and modern electronic production.
